What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a collision that injured a driver at Telephone Rd in Houston, TX on October 11th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 7:25 a.m. A tractor-trailer operated by a 21-year-old League City man was headed northbound on Telephone Rd when it reportedly failed to control its speed and collided with the rear of a Nissan Quest. The Quest driver, 44-year-old Cynthia Covarrubias, suffered minor injuries. A 13-year-old, 11-year-old and 9-year-old passenger all also suffered minor injuries. The League City man was not injured. Officers suggested and/or issued a Failure to Control Speed charge against the League City driver.
