What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a driver at FM 2138 in Cherokee County, TX on September 29th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 8:40 p.m. A pickup truck operated by 29-year-old Dakota Butler was traveling south on FM 2138 when it lost control at a left-hand curve. It veered from the road and went into a skid before crashing into a tree and catching fire. Butler suffered fatal injuries in the collision. Additional information was not immediately available.
