What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at FM 529 in Waller County, TX on December 13th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 1:44 p.m. A tractor-trailer operated by a 29-year-old Brookshire man was headed eastbound on FM 529 while a Nissan Juke operated by 20-year-old Daniel Joseph Lord was headed eastbound ahead of the truck. As the Nissan slowed to turn onto a private drive, the truck collided with the rear of the Nissan pushing it from the road. Lord suffered serious injuries in the collision. Responding officers allege the Brookshire man had a high blood sugar level at the time of the crash and report that he was hospitalized for treatment.
