What Happened

San Antonio Police are investigating a crash that killed two women at I-35 and Eisenhauer Rd in San Antonio, TX on August 7th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 2:30 a.m. A pickup truck traveling the wrong direction collided with an SUV head-on before overturning and catching fire. The driver and passenger of the SUV died at the scene. They were identified as 25-year-old Daniela Lute and 27-year-old Diana Rubio. The driver of the pickup truck, 58-year-old Ricardo Rodriguez, was pulled to safety and hospitalized in critical condition. Police say Rodriguez faces two counts of intoxication manslaughter.
