What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a driver at US 290 in Bastrop County, TX on August 1st, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 12 a.m. A Dodge Ram operated by 21-year-old David de la Rosa reportedly veered from the road into a concrete barrier before overturning. Both he and his 20-year-old passenger were ejected from the vehicle. Rosa suffered fatal injuries while his passenger was hospitalized with serious injuries. Investigators allege there was evidence to suggest that both driver and passenger were intoxicated at the time of the crash.
