What Happened

Texas Highway Patrol members are investigating a crash that killed a paramedic at US 69 near Greenville, TX on November 17th, 2021. Officials say around 7 p.m., a rock hauler truck was reversing across two lanes of traffic when it was struck by a southbound EMS vehicle for UT Health East Texas collided with the truck. The paramedic driving the EMS vehicle suffered fatal injuries in the collision. He was identified as 42-year-old David Eads. A passenger in the vehicle was hospitalized in what is believed to have been stable condition. The rock truck driver was not injured and cited for backing without safety. Police had no further information to share.
