Police have information on a crash that injured at least two people involved at I-69 and 13th St in Brownsville, TX on July 9th, 2024. Authorities say the incident happened around 11:15 p.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Colorado was headed eastbound on 13th St, approaching the intersection with the US 83 frontage road prior to allegedly running a red light. Reports say the vehicle collided with a a southeast bound Toyota Camry, the impact seriously injuring 49-year-old Toyota operator, David Montemayor. A 24-year-old passenger in the vehicle had possible, unconfirmed injuries while the driver of the Chevrolet allegedly had minor injuries. Sources indicate a charge of Intoxication Assault was recommended and/or issued against the operator of the Chevrolet. Additional information was not available.
