What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a man at State Hwy 171 in Godley, TX on January 30th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 5:24 a.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer operated by a 53-year-old Fort Worth man was headed southbound on Hwy 171. At the same time, a Ford Mustang operated by 35-year-old David Wade-Cornell Cheek was headed northbound. As both vehicles rounded a curve in the roadway, the tractor-trailer veered partially into the lane of the Ford. The vehicle struck the side of the vehicle as a result, pushing the Ford from the road into a ditch. Officers say Cheek was seriously injured in the collision. The other driver was not injured.
