Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at US 79 in Panola County, TX on December 2nd, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 11:59 a.m. A Toyota Camry operated by 59-year-old Debra Hurst was headed southbound on US 79 when it veered from the road at a curve. Investigators say it struck a mailbox and, after taking evasive action to the left, veered back into a southbound lane. The vehicle lost control and ended up in a ditch before rolling across a private drive. Hurst, who responding officers allege admitted to consuming alcohol prior to the crash, suffered serious injuries.
