What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed one person at East Loop 338 in Odessa, TX on November 14th, 2023. Police say the incident happened as commercial truck traveling northbound on East Loop 338. Police allege a second commercial truck may have run a stop sign before colliding with a second truck at Hammett Dr. It was stated by investigators the flashing lights on the stop sign were not active at the time of the collision. The truck is said to have next traveled into southbound lanes before colliding with a tractor-trailer. Officials say 64-year-old Delfino Acosta-Contreras was pronounced dead at the scene.
