What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a person at US 80 in Marshall, TX on July 11th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 11:49 a.m. A Hyundai Santa Fe operated by 24-year-old Katrail Flanagan reportedly collided with the rear of a Buick Century operated by 66-year-old Edwin Wilbert. The impact caused the Century to overturn multiple times before it veered from the road into a ditch. Wilbert suffered fatal injuries as a result. Responding officers say that Flanagan, who suffered minor injuries, allegedly admitted being under the influence of alcohol at the scene.
