What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at I-35 in Gainesville, TX on August 20th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 11:15 a.m. According to investigators, a Toyota Camry operated by 42-year-old Ellen Chimowa was seen veered into the side of a tractor-trailer before losing control. The Camry traveled through a median and cable barrier fence before rolling onto the driver side and landing upright. Chimowa suffered serious injuries in the collision. The other driver was not injured.
