What Happened

Authorities have information on a crash that injured a driver at I-45 in Harris County, TX on July 4th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 10:27 p.m. According to investigators, a Volvo S60 was northbound before allegedly veering out of its lane and colliding with a commercial truck.  Following the collision, reports claim the driver of the Volvo fled the scene on-foot before later being located and placed under arrest for Failure to Stop and Render Aid. Authorities say the driver of the commercial truck, identified as 21-year-old Elmer Vega, had non-life-threatening injuries. Additional information was not immediately available.
