Authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at State Hwy 43 in Rusk County, TX on June 2nd, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 8:18 p.m. According to investigators, a Mazda B2300 is alleged to have failed to yield while making a left turn, turning into the path of an approaching motorcycle. Reports say the vehicles collided, the collision leaving 23-year-old motorcycle operator, Erik Vargas, seriously injured. A 14-year-old passenger was also seriously injured, reports say, while the other driver was allegedly uninjured. Sources indicate a Failure to Yield Row citation was issued agains the operator of the Mazda.
