Police say the incident happened around 12:03 a.m. According to investigators, a Mazda 6 and GMC Sierra were involved in a crash that occurred under unclear circumstances. The Mazda was traveling northbound while the GMC was headed southbound proper to the collision. A passenger in the Mazda, identified as 65-year-old Ernesto Sanchez Gomez, died at the scene. The occupants of the Sierra were both treated and released. The driver, identified as 420year-old Walter Enrique Martinez, is expected to be charged with intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault.
