What Happened

Texas Department of Public safety officials identified the person injured in a crash at US 82 in Gainesville, TX on January 7th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 9:05 a.m. A tractor-trailer operated by a 31-year-old Rosston, AR man was headed westbound on US 82 approaching the intersection with Lawrence St. Investigators say a second tractor-trailer operated by 42-year-old Fekadu Shewakena Woldehana was stopped at the signal light when it was struck in the rear by the other truck. Woldehana suffered minor injuries in the collision while the Rosston man was not injured. Investigators say failure to control speed and possibly defective brakes may have played a factor in the crash.
