What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed two people at FM 812 in Bastrop County, TX on March 17th, 2022. They say the incident happened around 10:27 p.m. A Honda Accord operated by a 50-year-old Austin man is said to have been headed westbound on FM 812 when it crossed into eastbound lanes while still traveling westbound. Investigators say the vehicle attempted to correct course before it was struck in the rear by an eastbound Chevrolet Silverado, sending the Honda into a ditch and concrete barrier. Two passengers in the Honda, identified as 22-year-old Felipe Cuz Tiul and 31-year-old Felipe Chub Choc, suffered fatal injuries. Another passenger, age 22, suffered minor injuries while the driver suffered serious injuries. The Silverado driver was reportedly uninjured. Records indicate the Honda driver was issued a charge of Intoxication Manslaughter.
