Authorities are investigating a single-vehicle crash that killed a driver at I-20 in Gregg County, TX on March 30th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 4:17 a.m. According to investigators, a Cadillac CT4 headed westbound on I-20 is alleged to have lost control, possibly due to driver fatigue. Authorities say the vehicle veered from the roadway into a ditch where it entered into a tree line, striking several trees. The vehicle is said to have overturned in the process, catching fire and trapping 42-year-old driver, Felistas Gomez, inside the vehicle. Reports indicate Gomez was fatally injured while a second, 42-year-old occupant who was not publicly identified, was able to escape the vehicle with suspected serious injuries.
