Authorities in Kaufman County, TX, are investigating a multi-vehicle crash that occurred on December 14, 2024, around 11:32 p.m. on State Spur 557. A Hyundai Elantra, traveling west, sideswiped a Mack tractor-trailer while the driver was fatigued and diverted from driving. The Elantra overturned, resulting in suspected serious injuries to the 22-year-old driver. A 19-year-old passenger in the Hyundai was uninjured. The Mack truck driver and drivers of two additional trailers involved were also uninjured. The Hyundai driver was unlicensed and uninsured.
