Texas Department of Public Safety officials have information on a crash that killed a driver at Mile 19 Rd and Nowell Dr in Edinburg, TX on May 22nd, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 2:49 a.m. A Chevrolet Silverado operated by 38-year-old Gabriel Tijerina reportedly veered from the road at a dead end and struck a dirt mound that caused the vehicle to go airborne. It landed upside down, partially ejecting Tijerina from the vehicle and causing him fatal injuries. Police suggested that alcohol may have played a factor in the crash.
