Lubbock Police are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian at 58th St and University Ave in Lubbock, TX on April 10th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 9 a.m. According to investigators, an SUV operated by 42-year-old Esdras Amaya, was headed southbound on University Ave when it crossed overt into the northbound lanes onto a median. It then struck a pedestrian walking, identified as 60-year-old Gary Boaz, before crashing into a stop sign and traffic pole. Boaz suffered fatal injuries while Amaya suffered serious injuries.
