What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured two people at  I-2 and Val Verde Rd in Donna, TX on January 29th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 7:14 a.m. A commercial truck operated by a 32-year-old Kissimmee, FL man was reportedly headed westbound as it approached an in intersection with North Val Verde Rd. Police say the truck failed to control its speed after attempting to make a safe stop and collided with a Chevrolet Silverado at the intersection, operated by 24-year-old Gerardo Montoya. Both Montoya and the Kissimmee man reportedly suffered serious injuries in the crash. Additional information was not immediately available.
