Police say the incident happened around 11:13 a.m. According to investigators, a Ford F-150 operated by 26-year-old Gerardo Vasquez was headed west bound on W 42nd St at an alleged high rate of speed when it lost control and went into a skid. It then veered from the metal fence and struck a back hoe and equipment on a property before colliding with an unoccupied truck. Vasquez suffered serious injuries in the crash. Officers allege suspicion of alcohol involvement in the crash.
