What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian at Cage Blvd in Pharr, TX on November 24th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 10:14 p.m. According to investigators, an unknown vehicle operated by Martin Canchola is alleged to have struck a pedestrian crossing eastbound on South Cage Blvd. Following the collision, the vehicle left the scene before an approaching Ford Taurus collided with the pedestrian, identified as 54-year-old Gilberto Delgado. Delgado suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash. Canchola is said to have later turned himself into police, who recommended and/or issued an Accident Involving Death charge.
