What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that injured two people at US 59 in Jackson County, TX on June 27th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 10:57 p.m. According to investigators, a Mitsubishi Mirage was allegedly traveling southbound in northbound lanes prior to colliding head-on with a Chevrolet Tahoe. Police say the driver of the Tahoe, identified as 33-year-old Graciela Umanzor, had non-life-threatening injuries. Three passengers, including 40-year-old Jose Umanzor, also had non-life-threatening injuries, reports say. Reports also say the driver of the Mitsubishi, identified as 39-year-old Lindsay Barnes, was fatally injured in the crash. Additional information was not available.
