What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a driver at State Hwy 107 in Hidalgo County, TX on October 20th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 5:30 p.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Silverado operated by a 66-year-old Edinburg man was headed southbound on 83rd St approaching State Hwy 107. A motorcycle operated by 29-year-old Harley Garcia was approaching in westbound lane. Investigators suggested construction barrels in the area may have limited visibility for the vehicles. The Chevrolet entered into a center lane before it was struck by the motorcycle. Garcia suffered fatal injuries in the collision. Officers suggested to possibility of drugs and/or alcohol being involved in the crash.
