What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a person at FM 148 in Kaufman County, TX on October 16th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 4:26 a.m. A Chevrolet Silverado operated by 35-year-old Hilda Elia Marquez was headed southbound on FM 148 when it reportedly veered from its lane into a ditch and crashed into a tree. Marquez suffered serious injuries in the crash. Responding officers believe that Marquez was intoxicated and recommended and/or issued Driving While License Invalid and Failure to Drive in Single Lane Charges.
