What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that killed one person involved at South Dairy Ashford Rd in Houston, TX on February 10th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 8:20 p.m. According to investigators, a Ford F-150 was headed eastbound on Bissonnet St before allegedly running a red light and colliding with a Nissan Juke turning left. The collision sent the Nissan over a median where it struck a Honda CR-V, reports say. Reports say the driver of the Ford, identified as 30-year-old Alexander Leiva, was hospitalized with minor injuries along with his 19-year-old passenger. Both the 19-year-old driver and passenger of the Honda were also hospitalized with minor injuries. 71-year-old Iris Rodriguez was killed, however, it was not made clear which vehicle Rodriguez occupied at the time of the collision. Sources say Leiva faces Intoxication Manslaughter charges in connection with the collision.
