What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed two people at State Hwy 361 in Aransas Pass, TX on June 29th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 11:24 p.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Tahoe operated by 45-year-old Shawn Richardson was headed eastbound on Hwy 361 before crossing overt in a westbound lane and swerving to avoid a collision. A second vehicle, operated by 24-year-old Ivan Siverand, was traveling ahead of a Dodge Journey, which collided with the rear of the second vehicle. The Tahoe then overturned, leaving Richardson with fatal injuries. Siverand also suffered fatal injuries. Police allege suspicion that Richardson may have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
