Area authorities are investigating a pedestrian collision at Sam Houston Blvd in San Benito, TX on December 7th, 2021. Officials say the incident happened around 7:30 p.m. as 19-year-old Jackelin Lopez was struck by a pickup truck while traveling by foot. She was taken to an area hospital with severe injuries and placed on life support. On December 15th, she was taken off life support and succumbed to her injuries. Police say the driver of the pickup truck was questioned and released as authorities work to gather more information on the incident.
