What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that injured two people at State Hwy 34 in Hunt County, TX on February 17th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 9:05 p.m. According to investigators, a Ford Maverick was headed northeast before allegedly failing to yield row during  a left turn at the intersection with Spur 264. Officials say the vehicle collided with a southwest bound Toyota Tundra, the collision seriously injuring 56-year-old Toyota driver, Jaime Banda. Also seriously injured, reports say, was 57-year-old passenger, Rosario Banda. The other driver, who was not publicly identified, had non-life-threatening injuries while a 46-year-old passenger was seriously injured, reports say. Sources indicate a Driving While Intoxicated charge was recommended and/or issued against the operator of the Ford.
