What Happened

Authorities are investigating a collision that killed two people involved at I-610 in Houston, TX on February 1st, 2025. Police say the incident happened around 3:40 a.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet passenger vehicle was headed northbound in southbound lanes prior to colliding head-on with a southbound Chevrolet vehicle. Officials say the occupants of the vehicle that was hit, identified as 26-year-old James Jimenez and 26-year-old Tannar Thomas, were fatally injured. The driver of the alleged wrong-way vehicle, identified as 23-year-old Nefy Perez Texis, was allegedly charged with Driving While Intoxicated. Additional information was not available.
