What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a person at FM 2208 in Harrison County, TX on June 24th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 1:50 p.m. A Harley-Davidson motorcycle operated by 66-year-old James McWhirt was said to be traveling northbound behind a commercial truck that was making a left turn onto Bob White Rd. Investigators say the motorcycle attempted to travel around the truck in a no-pass zone and made contact with the truck. The impact caused the vehicle to veer into a ditch, causing McWhirt serious injuries. The other driver was not injured. Police also issued a Disregarding No Passing Zone citation against McWhirt.
