What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that killed a man at State Hwy 35 in Palacios, TX on November 26th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 6:11 p.m. According to investigators, a motorcycle was headed eastbound on Hwy 35 as a Chevrolet Cavalier was exiting a private drive. Authorities say the Chevrolet failed to yield right-of-way, turning left. The two vehicles collided, the collision leaving the 35-year-old motorcycle operator, identified as Jasian Barefield, fatally injured. The other driver, who was not publicly identified, was allegedly uninjured.
