What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at FM 2965 in Van Zandt County, TX on July 2nd, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 2:02 a.m. According to investigators, a Hummer H2 operated by 36-year-old Jose Arrellano was headed southbound when it veered from the road into a west ditch. While attempting to return to road, the vehicle swerved into a ditch and overturned. Two passengers in the vehicle, including 66-year-old Jenny Hernandez, suffered serious injuries. Arellano was not injured and, according to reports, charged with two counts of Intoxication Assault.
