Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a person at US 81 in Wise County, TX on November 12th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 7 p.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer operated by an unidentified 23-year-old Bogue Chitto, MS woman was previously stopped at a yield sign while waiting to cross northbound traffic. A vehicle operated by 80-year-old Jerry Robert Hipple is said to have struck the rear of the truck in cross traffic before continuing south into a center median. Officers allege the tractor-trailer failed to yield from a private drive. The collision left Hipple with fatal injuries. The other driver was not injured while a 19-year-old passenger had minor injuries. Additional information was not available.
