What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a multi-vehicle crash that injured a driver at FM 533 in Gonzales County, TX on August 26th, 2022. Officials believe the incident happened around 3:20 p.m. Investigators are saying a GMC Sierra Denali operated by 44-year-old Jesse Anthony Rios was headed northbound on FM 533 while the first of two different Ford F-350's was headed southbound. The second Ford F-350 was also headed southbound ahead of the first when cargo from a trailer attached to the second truck began to shift, landing onto the road. Equipment from the vehicle struck the GMC, causing it to lose control and cross into a southbound lane, colliding with the first Ford F-350. The Ford veered from the road into a barrow ditch, causing possible injuries to its driver. Rios is believed to have suffered serious injuries in the incident. Officers recommended and/or issued a No Driver License When Unlicensed charge to the driver of the first Ford F-350.
