What Happened

Officials are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 5:32 a.m. on August 8th, 2024, in Falls County, TX. According to reports, a Subaru Ascent was traveling northbound on SH 6 in a construction zone where roadway markings had not yet been painted. While attempting to negotiate a left curve, allegedly at high speed, the Subaru drifted off the east side of the roadway into a ditch. The vehicle rotated counterclockwise, struck a sign, and began rolling over, crossing CR 121 before hitting a stop sign and continuing down an embankment. The passenger, 22-year-old Jesse Auzston Jr., was ejected during the rollover and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver, who was not publicly identified, allegedly admitted to being fatigued after being awake for approximately 24 hours. Additional information was not available.
