What Happened

Area authorities have information on a crash that injured a driver at Grant Ave and 8th St in Odessa, TX on September 30th, 2021. Officials say the incident happened around 11:50 p.m. A Honda Civic operated by 38-year-old Sarah Ollivas was headed westbound on 8th St when authorities say it allegedly ran a red light as it approached the intersection with Grant Ave. It then entered into the path of a Ford Expedition and both vehicles collided on the passenger side of the Honda. 38-year-old Jessica Gonzalez, who was sitting on the passenger side, suffered serious injuries. Ollivas was evaluated for possible injuries while the occupants of the Ford did not report having any injuries. Investigators allege that Ollivas was possibly intoxicated at the time of the crash and issued a citation for Running a Red Light.
