Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at County Rd 609 in Nacogdoches County, TX on January 8th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 12:56 a.m. A Ford Focus operated by 22-year-old Joan Moreno was headed southeast on County Rd 609 when investigators say the vehicle ran a posted stop sign and crashed into a concrete divider. The impact caused the vehicle to rotate and land in a tree line. Responding officers allege that Moreno, who was seriously injured, was under influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. Charges for Disregarding a Stop Sign, No Driver's License, Operation of a Vehicle with an Expired License and Driving While Intoxicated were issued.
