What Happened

El Paso Police identified the motorcyclist killed in a collision at Dyer St in El Paso, TX on November 9th, 2021. They say the incident happened when the cyclist, identified as 28-year-old Joan Sebastian Ortega, collided with Chevrolet Silverado that failed to yield right of way. Once it crossed into the path of the motorcycle, the bike lost control and crashed into a tree in a center median, causing fatal injuries to Ortega. The driver of the Silverado, 69-year-old Bill Quattlebaum, was not injured. Additional details were not available.
