What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a person at FM 1518 in Guadalupe County, TX on April 7th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 1:11 a.m. Investigators believe a Dodge Ram 1500 operated by 29-year-old Jose Becerra Jr was traveling northbound on FM 1518 when it veered from the road into a shoulder and lost control. From there, the vehicle is said to have crossed across a left shoulder through a fence and into a tree, causing serious injuries. Officers allege suspicion that alcohol may have been a factor in the crash and reports indicate a Driving While Intoxicated charge was recommended and/or issued.
