What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed three people at US 77 in Corpus Christi, TX on July 16th, 2023. Police say the incident around 5 a.m. Investigators believe a GMC rear-ending a Chevrolet truck, causing it to travel into a median before overturning and catching fire. Police say two people were thrown from the vehicle while the driver was killed. Police say 39-year-old Jose Rivas and 37-year-old Christina Gonzalez were killed. Also killed was an 8-month-old child in the vehicle. Additional information has not been made available.
