Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a person at Loop 256 in Palestine, TX on July 12th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 8:52 p.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Suburban operated by a 36-year-old Flint, TX man was headed southwest when it allegedly failed to control its speed and collided with a Chevrolet Silverado stopped at a red light. The impact of the collision left the driver of the Silverado, identified as 31-year-old Jose Villanueva, with fatal injuries. His 26-year-old female passenger was seriously injured, according to reports. Reports also indicate the Flint man, who suffered minor injuries, was charged with Intoxication Manslaughter, Intoxication Assault, Driving While Intoxicated and Endangering a Child.
