Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a collision that killed a teen at Cesar Chavez Rd and Owassa Rd in San Juan, TX on January 1st, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 12:06 a.m. A Toyota Sienna was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed along Cesar Chavez Rd when it collided with a pedestrian attempting to cross the roadway. The pedestrian, identified as 17-year-old Juan Vasquez Jr, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Sienna reportedly fled the scene on-foot.
