What Happened

Authorities have information on a crash that killed a driver at Loop 1604 in San Antonio, TX on January 10th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 1:08 a.m. According to investigators, a Dodge Ram 1500, operated by 38-year-old Justin Ferdinand, was involved in a collision with the hook arm of a construction crane. Reports say the hook of the crane was in the process of being maneuvered into position for operation in a constriction zone as the Dodge approached. Authorities allege one of three lanes of travel had been previously sectioned off, however, the hook was partially blocking a second lane of travel. The Dodge is said to have collided with the hook of the crane while traveling at highway speeds, the impact being severe enough that Ferdinand was fatally injured. Authorities say there were no other injured and did not have additional information available.
