What Happened

Police in the area are investigating a single vehicle accident that resulted in a fatality at State Hwy 87 in Galveston County, TX on May 2nd, 2022. They say the victim, identified as 41-year-old Justin Wilkinson, died around 7 a.m. They say Wilkinson had been operating a heavy duty truck that somehow ended up in a ditch. Upon being removed from the ditch, the truck was later stopped as Wilkinson exited the vehicle. He was reportedly checking on something under the vehicle when it rolled back for unknown reasons and struck him, causing fatal injuries. Police had no additional information to share.
