Police say the incident happend around 3:01 a.m. According to investigators, a Kia Sportage headed southbound on US 271 is alleged to have left the roadway, possibly due to driver fatigue, entering into a grass ditch. There, officials say the vehicle struck a light fixture and continued forward, rolling multiple times. Reprots indicate 23-year-old alleged driver, Kaige Watkins, was fatally injured.
