What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at I-35 in Austin, TX on January 26th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 6:50 p.m. A tractor-trailer operated by a 58-year-old Irving man is accused of failing to control its speed and veered left, colliding with a Ford Edge operated by 41-year-old Kathy Michelle Vargas Lopez. Police say the Irving man told them the vehicle suffered a front tire blow out to lose control and cause the accident. The impact pushed the Ford into a Kia Sedona ahead of it, causing Lopez minor injuries. The Kia driver, 37-year-old Ali Allami, was not injured. The Irving man was also uninjured.
