What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a person at State Hwy 256 in Memphis, TX on November 15th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 4 a.m. Investigators are saying a westbound Toyota Corolla became disabled in a travel lane after colliding with a deer. The vehicle is said to have had active hazard lights flashing and its occupants were in the process of exiting the vehicle as a Dodge Grand Caravan approached. The Dodge struck the Toyota as 26-year-old Michael Solis was attempting to completely exit the vehicle. Also struck was 25-year-old Kayla Terral, who suffered fatal injuries from the collision. Solis was hospitalized in serious condition. No other injuries were reported. Additional details were not available.
